Reversing Type 2 Diabetes: top doctor explains How Conventional treatment guidelines make things worse

Hi, Tony Jackson writing here about reversing type 2 diabetes.
The video underneath this intro is one of my favorites.

I reversed my Type 2 Diabetes (T2 Diabetes) after 30 years of being 300 lbs or so, what the docs call “morbidly obese.” I dropped 120 lbs as a side effect of the plan to reverse Type 2 Diabetes; a nice side-effect, I’m sure you’ll agree.

To be fully up-to-date, my doctor added the medical notation to my records on May 30th to formally assert I was not longer a diabetic.

I documented my plan and my results in a book that’s available for download, called “3 Boxes Ticked – Diabetes Gone.” The 3 Boxes I’m referring to were 3 objectives I laid out at the beginning of my search for a solution to my Diabetes:

  1. Eliminate T2 Diabetes!
  2. Lose SERIOUS weight.
  3. Never be hungry while I was doing it (because if I was, I’d probably quit the program.)

Reverse Type 2 Diabetes

I did more than 200 hours of research to come up with my plan, and this video was one of the most striking I encountered.

I’d already nailed-down the core problem underlying Type 2 Diabetes. I’d already recognized that the conventional medical approach did not address this core problem — it focused on the symptoms. And I’d already recognized that the focus on the symptoms allowed Diabetes itself to get worse, year after year, when it could have been getting better.

But this doctor, in this video, pulled no punches whatsoever. She explains exactly how the conventional guidelines for eating according to the American Diabetes Association make Diabetes worse. And she explains exactly how the use of Insulin makes Diabetes worse. Brilliant.

And she explains the single biggest action she says is necessary to start the path to Reversing Type 2 Diabetes.
But there’s a problem with that she advises for people like me — 30 years seriously fat.
First, you can get really good results without doing what she suggests. I know, because I did — at first. Later, after I’d lost a lot of weight and seen my blood sugar numbers improve a lot, I started to do what she suggests. Of course, it’s solid advice and I’d probably have done better to include it earlier in what I did BUT it would never have been enough by itself. Not even close.

For many of us I’m quite certain that what she advises is not necessarily enough to Reverse Diabetes. You’ll be healthier for doing it but it isn’t enough to “crack” the core problem under Type 2 Diabetes. In fact, she sort of makes this point herself when she says “if you take action early enough.”
I’d had the core problem for more than 30 years. I am convinced that “just” doing what she describes wouldn’t have achieved what I’ve achieved. It would have HELPED but it would not have been enough.

I went to war with the core problem. It took 3 BIG elements to “crack” my insulin resistance of 30 years.
One of those elements is the one she describes in this video.
It’s the combination of all 3 that I explain and describe in my book.

Anyway .. enjoy this excellent presentation.

Her “take” on carbs is of course accurate.
But here’s the thing: I initially lost a lot of weight (40? 50 lbs?) AND saw reductions in insulin levels and blood sugar levels while I was still having a lot more carbohydrates than she suggests. (Over time I reduced carbs to a level where I was definitely on a low-carb diet. But I didn’t dive in! I tip-toed my way towards it!).

I’m not saying her advice is incorrect; it’s exactly right. But many people find it’s not easy to just dive in to what she suggests. And, the whole picture for someone who’s long-term fat needs more. When I declared all-out war with the core problem, I started with something else that was extraordinarily effective, wasn’t very low carb and never left me hungry. Then I became increasingly low-carb effortlessly over the next 18 months.

It took me seven months before the first serious “cracks” appeared in my insulin resistance. Then things accelerated … and it’s no coincidence that I was increasingly following the path she describes by that time. The combination was what worked.

Again, if you want to see what I did, take a look at my online book (pdf and epub download) “3 Boxes Ticked – Diabetes Gone.”
